Our estate in Etyek went through an extensive renovation! The new restaurant and pool area are waiting for you to enjoy the caress of the sun rays alongside the fine dishes and cooled wines.
Our restaurant has been thriving for the past 15 years! Our secret is not only concentrating on the sophistication of our cooking but more importantly the experience of a day out at our place!
Haraszthy Vineyards is not only about creating value by producing high quality wines but also to provide unforgettable memories to our visitors. In 2019 we have rebranded our restaurant right next to the winery to fully satisfy gastronomy lovers’ passion.
Located in the heart of Etyek, our restaurant captures the vibrant energy of the location through its mediterranean restaurant, elegant cellar and lively terrace with a pool. It has a wide selection of top quality wines to compliment the variety of international dishes prepared with a local touch. The terrace’s atmospheric new cocktail bar is an excellent choice for refreshment during summer days.
Our enthusiastic owners, Ingeborg & Carlos Coelho and cosmopolitan chefs, hailing from all over the world, mostly from Latin America inspired our restaurants name: Matador. We use only the finest ingredients complimented by high-end kitchen technology to create a fine dining bistro under the supervision of our Brazilian-Portuguese Corporate Chef, André Bicalho and our award winning American-Mexican chef, Diego Bautista. We are masters at pairing our dishes with our own wines from across the world including Etyek, Argentina and California.
André is Brazilian-Portuguese and lived in different countries across the world, working in several fields directly or closely linked to gastronomy. The professional experiences he had in these locations, and the local and global diversity of cuisines available in them, fomented his passion for food, and culminated in André achieving the top-of-the-class graduate of his culinary university, after which he successfully completed a 6 months internship at 2 Michelin Star restaurant Villa René Lalique with Chef Jean Georges Klein in the French Alsace region.
He is passionate about translating balanced bouquets of taste into beautiful dishes which make people happy. The instant gratification, the opportunity towards creativity, innovation and constant learning, and the respect for the enormous diversity of products Mother Nature regales humanity with is something he carries with him every day when he puts on the chef’s apron.
After moving to Hungary, he became the head chef of the renowned fine dining restaurant Baraka making a name for himself in Budapest, and from October 2020 he became part of our team.
Our restaurant aims to represent the diversity of cultures as a grill/steakhouse and bistro. We incorporate smoky flavours into our dishes, always ensure that they are consistent and do not distract from our wines. The quality of the meats is the most important ingredient in the restaurant, and we use meat from all over the world to create sausages and cold cuts, as well as steak dishes. In addition, we place great emphasis on the use of local and seasonal ingredients. The bakery products are fresh from Hungarian suppliers and some of the vegetables are grown on our farm.
In addition to wine connoisseurs and those with a more serious interest in gastronomy, we also welcome guests who are open to new gastronomic and culinary experiences, who would like to explore the new wave of international cuisine, either a la carte or with a unique wine dinner.

You will also be treated to a more detailed talk on the work of our master winemakers before enjoying a delicious home-made sausage platter.

We recommend this tour for connoisseurs seeking a more detailed insight into the individual characters of wines from around the world.
It is also perfect for gastronomists eager to learn more about the relationship between fine wines and food. You’ll get to sample nine individual wines from Hungary and California. For gastronomists our farm-to-table local, home-made sausage platter offering is extended to give you a broader insight into the delicate balance between wines and different foods. You will also enjoy an extended talk on the Haraszthy wine making process.
